Since 2016 Erin Murdock has been working under the moniker "SNIPGLASS"

"Imagery in my work is often inspired by psychedelia and the natural world. I find myself curiously studying the cosmos with wonder, while simultaneously admiring the divine earthen arrangements growing in my garden — these universal gifts motivate me to design from my findings. Through contrast and brightness I create compositions that add animation to static sheets of glass. The considered color arrangements invite viewers to examine works not just as a whole, but as individual shapes and moments. I enjoy provoking playfulness with a nod to what’s bigger, and smaller, than us."

Murdock’s interest in stained glass was first made possible through Judith Schaechter, from whom she learned the craft. In the summer of 2017, she was a Teaching Assistant for Cappy Thompson & Dick Weiss' "High Test: Paint & Lead" class at Pilchuck Glass School. In addition to being an Affilaite Member of The Stained Glass Association of America, she is also on the Editorial Committee for the Stained Glass Quarterly

Murdock’s current focus "behind the scenes" is to make stained glass education more accessible. She is working on securing & establishing a stained glass education center over the next decade. The school would teach everything from traditional stained glass and restoration, to modern techniques and advanced kiln working. Her goal is to be well funded enough to provide annual, full scholarships for POC and underprivileged youth. If you are interested in helping her with this goal, please reach out at [email protected].
